Irma Stern Colouring-In book  sells out

What do you do if you are six years old, have a box of crayons, lots of creative enthusiasm and your mother presents you with yet another colour-in book with Disney inspired characters that you cannot relate to?

  You create your own .

That’s how it started thirty years ago when the artist asked her mom for a different kind of book and her mother suggested she make her own.  She has not looked back since.  Today Maraja Badenhorst, artist and teacher, has just published the first in a planned series of well known South African artists – twelve works by each artist.  The first quickly sold out at the Klein Karoo Arts Festival in Oudtshoorn last month. This comprises twelve paintings, all still-life – from the work of Irma Stern.
